SEO Meta Tags - title, description

SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization", which refers to optimizing your website to be more visible on search engines.

In essence, it involves techniques to ensure your website appears more prominently in search engine results.

Within the scope of SEO, title and description are particularly important as they define the title and description of a webpage that will be displayed in search results.

Note: Search engines prefer that every page within a web service has a unique title and description reflecting the nature of each page.

title Tag

The title tag defines the title of a webpage. This title appears in the browser's tab and is also displayed as the title in search engine results.

For instance, if you search for CodeFriends using a search engine, you might see the title CodeFriends | The Easiest Software Learning Platform, which corresponds to the content of the title tag for CodeFriends.

Example of a title tag
<head> <title>Learn the Basics of Web Development</title> </head>

description Meta Tag

The description meta tag provides a brief description of the webpage.

Since the description appears as a short phrase under the page title in search results, it should be carefully crafted.

Example of using a description meta tag
<head> <meta name="description" content="Basic learning material for beginners in web coding" /> </head>
